On the 28th November, unbox-it organised a breakfast for migrant entrepreneurs inside the Houses of Parliament.
The breakfast was hosted by unbox-it.com founder Rafael dos Santos and MP Neil Coyle. Neil is a great supporter of migrant entrepreneurs. In September 2016, Neil hosted the launch of the national report ‘Migrant Entrepreneurs, the Benefits to Britain‘ – written by Rafael, commissioned by the Institute of Directors.
During the breakfast, Neil Coyle demonstrated his support to migrant entrepreneurs. Sharing some stats from the report about the challenges migrant entrepreneurs face when starting/growing businesses in London, he addressed the top 3 issues migrants are facing;
Lack of network
Lack of funding
Lack of local knowledge
MP Neil also emphasized the importance of migrant entrepreneurs and the number of people employed by migrant entrepreneurs:
The breakfast was followed by pitching presentations from all entrepreneurs in the room. Attendees were able to hear others stories, struggles, and aspirations all the while dining in the historical House of Parliament.
We were happy to put on an event that brings entrepreneurs up close and personal with people like Neil Coyle, who really want (and are able) to make a difference in their lives. The breakfast was also a great opportunity for these entrepreneurs to network and meet new people. To top it all off, all attendees were treated to a 75 minute exclusive tour inside the House of Lords.
The attendees had great feedback from our event, on our Facebook page:
